Bella Kotak is a fine art, fashion and portrait photographer based in Oxford and London, England. An art lover from a young age she always knew that she would work within the creative industry. Photography changed her life when she picked up a camera and began a 365 project on Flickr. From that moment she was hooked by this medium that translates thoughts and imagination into tangible form.
Inspired by fairy tales, nature and strong feminine characters Bella's pictures lift the veil of the overlooked and reminds us that there's magic in the most ordinary of spaces.

Course Layout

Day One:
We will spend the morning covering topics from how to prepare for a photo shoot, getting in touch with models and designers, to realizing a final vision.
During the day we will set up storytelling scenes while discussing inspiration, how to execute a vision, what to notice when you're shooting, how to approach and capture pieces for composite photography. You will watch me shoot, followed by having the opportunity to set up and capture your own images. I will be there to guide you and help in any way I can to sharpen your creative eye.

• The day will begin at 9.30am with introductions between attendees and the team.
• As the models are prepared I will talk about inspiration, concepts, and how I approach and execute an image.
• We will shoot in a on- location style setup along with two models, props, and hair/makeup artist.
• You will be able to see me work and you will also get time to take your own images.
• I will be on hand guiding your individual shooting time.


Day Two:
I will be sharing my approach to retouching, what I look for in selects, workflow process, image manipulation, retouching, and colour toning techniques.


• We will work on an image from start to finish using Capture One and Photoshop.
• You are encouraged to bring your laptop and tablet to follow along.
• Bring along any images to work on from the day before.
• In the end you will walk away with a finished piece.
